Dear Parents and Carers,
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Gunton Community Primary School’s website.
We believe that the first years of formal education set the foundations on which to build, and everyone working at the school puts every effort into creating a secure, caring and positive atmosphere in which your child is encouraged to develop to his or her full potential. The children at Gunton are confident, happy and keen to learn. They are encouraged to be independent and to develop a sense of responsibility. Visitors to the school frequently comment on the welcoming atmosphere, and how well the children conduct themselves. We are proud of our children, and their achievements, and our expectations of both their academic and social skills are high.
We value the strong relationships we develop with parents, and we invite you to join us as often as possible. We believe that more can be achieved if teachers and parents work together in partnership. Please join in the many activities to which you will be invited, as well as encouraging your child at home.
We pride ourselves on having been one of the first schools to receive a Department for Education and Skills ‘School Achievement Award’, and on our Charter Mark, awarded by the Cabinet Office, for ‘Excellence in Public Service’. We have also been awarded an ‘Activemark’ for our commitment to sport and a healthy lifestyle, and ‘National Healthy Schools’ status. In May 2007, we were delighted that our Ofsted grade was ‘Outstanding’. As a school, we constantly seek ways to improve, to benefit our present and future pupils.
